I’ve been conducting a survey of business owners (started on December 6, 2011) and the early results are interesting. The vast majority of respondents say they are focused on growth (versus survival, maintenance or rapid expansion). This is a good sign for the economy.

On the flip side, the leading categories regarding concerns that business owners have are uncertainty in the market and the affect of the Great Recession. One could make a case that these two factors are closely connected. This is what I’ve been hearing at presentations and in discussions; that uncertainty is holding people back and that much of that uncertainty is centered around the inaction of the politicians. Sometimes it’s not the actual policy that matters it’s that there is a policy in place instead of tax codes that expire or change and the related talk of will they be changed.

If you own a business and would like to take the survey go to: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/JKCXVJY . It is completely anonymous.
